Terms of Service

The rules for using the website, the waitlist, the trial report and the launch offer, including acceptable use and what Ward does not promise.
In short
- Ward is a passive scan of a domain’s exposure using public sources. It is not a security audit or a penetration test.
- Scan only domains that are yours, or that you have the owner’s permission to scan.
- The only free thing is the trial report: a scan of one domain, with no account. There is no free trial of the paid plans.
- The launch offer: the first year of the Professional plan, billed annually, for $849 while it is published. Anyone who joins the waitlist before launch has it reserved. Joining doesn’t oblige you to subscribe.
- Ward AI and Analyzer results are for guidance and don’t replace a professional.
- Warranties and liability are limited as far as the law allows, without taking away your rights as a consumer.
1.Who we are and what these terms cover
Ward is a service of Ward, whose details are in the Legal Notice. These terms govern use of the website, the waitlist, the trial report and, when they open, the paid plans. By using them, you accept these terms.Ward is a service for businesses.
Ward hasn't opened yet: these are the pre-launch terms. The terms for buying paid plans (prices, taxes, renewal, withdrawal and cancellation) will be published before launch and you will accept them before you buy. Until then, nothing is for sale.
2.What Ward is and isn’t
Ward is a passive scan of a domain’s exposure on the internet. It uses public sources (DNS lookups, certificate logs, third-party databases), a single visit to the home page, the way a browser would make it, and three standard public files (robots.txt, sitemap.xml and security.txt). It doesn’t scan ports, probe paths or try passwords, and it doesn’t send malicious payloads. It identifies itself as “WardBot”. How it works is explained in the guide.
The results are for information only. Ward is not a security audit, a penetration test, a certification of compliance with any law or standard, or legal, technical or insurance advice.
Paid plans also include the monitoring dashboard, Ward AI (the assistant) and the Analyzer (for suspicious emails, links and files). The guide explains what each one does, and the Privacy Policy explains what personal data we handle.
3.The waitlist
By leaving your email on the waitlist you ask us to tell you once, when Ward opens. It isn't a reservation or an order and creates no obligation for either party: we don't guarantee a launch date, a price or that there will be spots.
You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing onboarding@resend.dev or using the unsubscribe link in the notice. How we handle your email is in the Privacy Policy.
4.The trial report
The trial report is a free scan of one domain, without an account: we show you the score, how many problems there are and how you could be attacked. It is the only thing we offer for free. It is subject to usage limits and may change or be withdrawn. The detail of each problem and continuous monitoring are part of the paid plans.
There is no free trial of the paid plans: no trial period and no other unpaid term.
5.Launch offer
While the offer is published, the Professional plan can be subscribed to at the launch price. Anyone who joins the waitlist before launch has that price reserved. These are the offer’s terms, subject to the subscription terms we will publish before launch:
| What | How |
|---|---|
| Who it is for | Anyone who subscribes to the Professional plan while the offer is published. Professional plan only. |
| Price | The first year of the Professional plan, billed annually, for $849 (U.S. dollars), instead of $1,188, what twelve monthly payments would cost. |
| When it is reserved | It is reserved for you when you join the waitlist before launch. |
| Until when | While it is published on the website. If we withdraw it, we will announce it on the website and email people who joined the waitlist before. |
| How it applies | When you subscribe to the Professional plan with annual billing after launch, the first year is charged at the launch price. We will email you how to apply it. |
| Annual billing only | The offer only exists with annual billing. With monthly billing, the regular price of the plan applies. |
| No obligation | Joining the waitlist doesn’t oblige you to subscribe or to pay anything. There is no charge when you join. |
If we withdraw the offer, we will announce it on the website and tell people who joined the waitlist before by email. Prices are in U.S. dollars, excluding taxes. The prices of all plans are on the pricing page.
6.Ward AI and the Analyzer
Ward AI is the assistant that answers questions about findings and about the company’s situation. Each plan has a monthly Ward AI usage quota. The Analyzer analyzes suspicious emails, links and files. Each plan has a monthly limit of analyses (Essential: 50; Professional: 400). Past the limit, items are still analyzed, but only with technical checks and without AI. Analyzer runs don’t use up your Ward AI quota.
Ward AI’s answers and the Analyzer’s verdicts are for guidance and can be wrong. They don’t replace a security professional or your own review. The Analyzer doesn’t run files or open links, and it doesn’t guarantee it will catch every fraud. Don’t enter passwords or unnecessary personal data in the chat.
7.Acceptable use
Scan only domains that are yours or that you have the owner's permission to scan (for example, a client's domain you advise). Although Ward only reads public information, the result could help someone who wants to attack a third party, and we don't want it used that way.
You may not use Ward or its results to:
- attack, try to gain unauthorized access to, extort, harass or impersonate a company or a person, or to prepare any of those things;
- scan third parties’ domains without permission, especially repeatedly or systematically;
- automate the service (bots, programs, bulk lists) without our permission, or get around the usage limits, for example by changing IP addresses;
- overload the service or the sources and sites it queries;
- resell the results or publish them in a way that harms a third party;
- impersonate another person or give false information.
Ward limits the number of scans per person, per domain and for the whole platform, and may limit, suspend or block access for anyone who breaks these rules, without notice when there is abuse, and cooperate with the authorities if the law requires it. Anyone who uses Ward against these rules is responsible for the damage they cause.
If you own a domain and believe someone is using Ward against you, email onboarding@resend.dev and we will look into it.
8.Your account and the data you upload
The account belongs to the company. Whoever uses it on the company’s behalf must have authority to do so and is responsible for keeping access secure. A sign-in link expires after 15 minutes and works only once, so don’t share it.
What you upload to the Analyzer or write to Ward AI may include other people’s data (for example, the sender of an email). You decide what to upload, and you must have a legal basis to process that data and inform your team. How we handle that data, and when we act as a processor, is in the Privacy Policy.
9.No warranty on the results
Ward is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranty that:
- there won't be attacks or incidents at your company, even if the score is good;
- the scan will find every problem: it only sees what is visible from the outside using public sources;
- what it finds is accurate or up to date: third-party sources can fail, lag or be wrong, and there can be false positives and false negatives;
- the service will always be available or free of errors.
The score (the Ward Score) and the findings are an aid for setting priorities. The decisions you make with them are yours, and for the ones that matter it is wise to consult a security professional.
10.Intellectual property
The name “Ward”, its logo, the text, the design and the code belong to Ward or its licensors (see the Legal Notice). You may use the results of scanning your own domains for your internal purposes. Data from third-party sources is governed by each source's license (Sources).
11.Liability
To the extent the law allows, Ward isn't liable for indirect damages, lost profits or data loss, for decisions you make based on the results, for security incidents in your systems or for use of the service by third parties against these terms. While the service is free, it is only liable for damage caused by intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
For paid plans, the maximum amount of liability and how it relates to what you pay will be set out in the subscription terms, which we will publish before launch.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, or the rights that the law gives to consumers.
12.Consumer rights
If you use the service as a consumer (that is, as an individual acting outside your business activity), these terms don’t take away the mandatory consumer protection rights that the law of your country of residence gives you. Those rights prevail over what is written here where the law requires it, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your home. For consumers in the European Union, the Consumer Rights Directive and its national implementing law govern distance contracts, including withdrawal, which the subscription terms will set out.
13.Personal data
How we handle personal data is in the Privacy Policy, and which cookies the site uses is in the Cookie Notice.
14.Suspension and changes
We may suspend or close access for anyone who breaks these terms. We may change these terms, for example when we open a new feature, and the service, or stop offering it. The current version is the one on this page, with the date of the last update at the top. If a change is significant and we have your email through an account, we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterward means you accept the new version, unless the law requires otherwise.
15.Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by Spanish law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country.
If you are a consumer, you may go to the courts of your place of residence, and nothing here limits that right. In all other cases, the parties submit to the courts of Spain, unless the law requires a different venue.
